About Gord BarrettI have been involved with astronomy from a young age when I first watched the Apollo missions and the landing on the moon. From that time forward I have been learning all that I could without the benefit of a goto telescope until my late 40's. My involvement with astronomy has been primarily visual up until the last 3 years when I have taken on the challenge of imaging. I have gradually built both my knowledge level and equipment to a point where I am just becoming comfortable with my ability to obtain decent image data and develop rudimentary processing skills. One thing that I have learned is that being an astronomer is a lot like many things in life. It is something that you can never quite master but you can continuously improve if you work hard, learn as much as you can, and have the patience to allow your competence to grow. This growth underlies the joy of being an astronomer and builds confidence alongside a never-ending sense of wonder.
